Great idea - looking forward to discussing the first 3 books.

Answer to a couple of your questions.

Will you be partake in Comedy Book Club?

Yes, made me subscribe.

It is a great idea to create a space for taking a closer look at humor/comedy writing - and analyze and discuss what makes something funny.

Any feedback? What do you want to see here in 2025?

Would like to see book club continue and also read non-fiction books that use humor. Like Douglas Adams 'Last chance to see' or essay writes like Brian Phillips (Impossible Owls) and Alexandra Petri (Nothing Is Wrong and Here Is Why).

Authors who use humor as a tool to tell stories about/comment on serious - and not so serious - subjects.

Brian Phillips essay 'Out in the Great Alone' can be read here btw:

Perhaps use The Storygraph as home for book club if it continues.

They have a lot of excellent features for discussing books - read-along, voting on next book etc.

And its a great platform focused on helping users read - not harvest info and capture attention.

Thanks for the feedback. Will keep the book club on Substack for the time being just because I wanna build this community, but I appreciate it.

• Will you be partake in Comedy Book Club?

Yes!

Your paid Substack is worth every penny. I’ve learned so much from you in the last few months. The writing group stuff has been awesome also. More of the same in 2025 - dissecting more humour pieces would be great for sure. Also maybe something along the lines of how to develop your comedy “network”?

• What questions do you want me to answer in future Q&A segments?

Are you going to write a book? A novel?

• Finally… How’d 2024 go for you, writing-wise? Feel free to drop a link to something you published, in the comments section.

Got 2 posts published in Slackjaw and one in McSweeney’s, so I’m happy about that. Also started writing corporate satire stuff on LinkedIn (after only ever posting ‘serious’ job search stuff) and got positive feedback so I’m also happy about that.
