In comedy writing, complexity is the enemy.

Most really funny ideas are pretty simple.

And lots of failed jokes or unfunny comedy premise ideas are convoluted.

Trust me. I know this from being King Convoluted.

I have truly reigned on the throne of “Bro, what the hell are you trying to say here?” in the kingdom of “This is six paragraphs too long, bro. You’re killin’ me, bro.”
